MSc. Naval Architect Pauli Immonen studied in Helsinki University of Technology. Main thesis being Ship Theory and Ship Building. He started his shipbuilding career in Oy Laivateollisuus Ab specialized in research vessels and other special purpose vessels. In a few years he was named to first head of R&D department and later to Technical Manager of the yard. Later he started a new company Mobimar Ltd. Specializing in tourist submarines and aluminum vessels and constructions. As Managing Director of Mobimar for 25 years he developed the company to manufacture demanding special constructions. Often these solutions were sold to be installed on cruise vessels. As one special modification Mobimar changed a 100 year old Turku City ferry FÖRI to an all electric ferry in 2017. In 2018 Mobimar delivered the first automatic bow charging connection system to the all-electric passenger/car ferry in Denmark. It has been running there since then successfully. 3mar Ltd was founded in 2020 as a spin off from Mobimar to develop and to continue automatic shore charging system deliveries. The company has now three main products based on charging form the bow of the vessel. These units cover charging needs from 250 kW to 10.000 kW.
